The number of Covid-19 cases in India crossed the 12,000 mark in the past 24 hours , Data released by Union Health Ministry showed. 

 Total confirmed cases in the country now stand 12,380 as per the govt database updated at 8 am today. As many as 414 have died from the disease so far , while 1,489 have been declared as cured/discharged/ migrated.

 The number of cases globally is well over 2 million now , with more than 1,37,000 death till date . America accounts for highest number of casualities 28,399.

 According to ICMR , a total of 2,74,599 samples from 2,58,730 individuals have been tested as of 9 pm yesterday .

 With the footprint of virus widening in the country , there is an emergency meeting scheduled for today between the FM and the PM to discuss a second round of measures to save the economy.

 As of now , PM has declared the second lockdown till 3 May , and hoping to make the graph of infected people to decrease.
